HOW TO GET YOUR CCW
To obtain a concealed carry permit in Riverside County, California, you must meet the following requirements:
1. Be at least 21 years old
2. Be a resident of Riverside County
3. Have completed a 16 hour concealed carry training course approved by the Riverside County Sheriff's Department
4. Have no felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions involving violence or threats of violence
5. Have no outstanding warrants or pending criminal charges
6. Have no history of mental illness or substance abuse
Once you meet the requirements, you can follow these steps to apply for a concealed carry permit in Riverside County:
1. Fill out the online application on the Riverside County Sheriff's Department website. Here is the link to the application. https://riversideca.permitium.com/ccw/start
2. Gather all required documents, including proof of residency, proof of completion of a firearms safety course, and any other supporting documentation.
3. Submit your application and documents to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department along with the required application fee.
4. Schedule an appointment for an interview with a sheriff's department representative to discuss your application.
5. Undergo a background check and fingerprinting process.
6. Wait for the sheriff's department to review your application and make a decision on whether to issue you a concealed carry permit.

CCW Prep Master Class is a 7-hour live fire training experience built for aspiring and current CCW holders who want more than the minimum standard. Designed as a comprehensive supplemental training course, this class is for those who are serious about developing the skill, confidence, and capability required to carry a firearm responsibly in everyday life.
Unlike a basic certification course, this training places a strong emphasis on live fire performance, practical application, and concealment-focused skill development, giving students meaningful reps in the areas that matter most.
This is NOT the mandated California CCW training course, but rather an elevated, all-in-one concealed carry training experience created to help students build true confidence behind the gun.
From foundational mechanics to real-world concealed carry considerations, this intensive course is designed to deliver a full day of focused training for those who want to leave more prepared, more capable, and more confident. A lunch break will be included during class.
CALIFORNIA CCW INITIAL APPLICANTS

The California Initial CCW Course at Heritage Defense Group is designed for individuals applying for their concealed carry permit for the first time. This 16-hour training course fulfills California’s initial training requirement while providing students with far more than just the minimum standard.
Our instructors are USCCA, NRA, and California DOJ concealed carry firearms instructors who have undergone rigorous training and certification to provide you with the knowledge and skills needed to safely and responsibly carry a concealed weapon.
This course covers the essential legal, safety, and practical components of concealed carry, including firearm safety, safe handling, storage, transportation, California use-of-force laws, self-defense considerations, and responsible concealed carry practices. Students will also receive live fire range instruction and qualification, helping them build a stronger foundation in marksmanship, firearm control, and real-world concealed carry application.

The California CCW Renewal Course at Heritage Defense Group is designed for current permit holders who need to renew their concealed carry license in accordance with California requirements. This 8-hour course satisfies the state renewal training requirement while reinforcing the core principles of responsible concealed carry.
Our instructors are USCCA, NRA, and California DOJ concealed carry firearms instructors who have undergone rigorous training and certification to provide you with the knowledge and skills needed to safely and responsibly carry a concealed weapon.
Students will review critical topics such as firearm safety, legal updates, use-of-force considerations, concealed carry best practices, and responsible decision-making, along with completing the required live fire qualification. This course is designed to help permit holders stay sharp, remain legally informed, and continue carrying with confidence and competence.

REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY
All class registrations are final. Refunds are only considered for verified emergencies, such as medical emergencies, hospitalization, or death in the family. Documentation may be requested.
For non-emergency situations, students may receive a one-time class credit toward a future class if they notify HDG at least 48 hours in advance. Credits must be used within 90 days and are generally non-transferable.
Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice, or failure to attend, result in forfeiture of the class fee unless it qualifies as a verified emergency. If HDG cancels a class, students will receive either a free transfer to the next class or a full refund.
By registering, students agree to these terms.
RANGE FEES
Range fees are separate, and are not included in the class price. Fees vary by location and are generally between $30-$40 per person. This is a standard industry practice set by the hosting range and the fee applies to everyone, including the instructors and spectators. Prior to the class event, we will notify you of the range fees.
