DESCRIPTION

Red Dot Shooting is a focused 2-hour mini class designed to help shooters confidently transition from traditional iron sights to modern red or green dot optics. Students learn the core fundamentals of running a pistol-mounted optic, including proper presentation to quickly find the dot, target-focused shooting techniques, and maintaining accuracy at various distances. The class also includes guidance on sighting in your optic, understanding common red-dot challenges, and building consistent habits that make dot acquisition faster and more intuitive. Perfect for new adopters or anyone looking to optimize their red-dot performance.

GEAR REQUIREMENTS

  • 150 rounds of ammunition (NO RELOADS ALLOWED)

  • Hat + Sunblock/ protection

  • Shaded Eye Protection

  • Electronic Hearing Protection 

  • Fitted Shirt + Tactical Pants/Shorts with large capacity pockets (for bullets)

  • Close-toed athletic shoes

  • Tactical Training Belt (Gun Belt)

  • Handgun with optic + 3 Magazines

  • Gun Holster

  • Magazine Pouches

  • Hydration and snacks

  • Optional: Bring your own lawn chair

 

RANGE FEES

Range fees are separate, and are not included in the class price. Fees vary by location and are generally between $30-$40 per person. This is a standard industry practice set by the hosting range and the fee applies to everyone, including the instructors and spectators. Prior to the class event, we will notify you of the range fees. 

GUN + GEAR RENTAL RATES

If you do not own your own gun yet, we do offer rental guns for the duration of the class.

  • $50 – Handgun, holster, magazines, mag pouch

REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY

All class registrations are final. Refunds are only considered for verified emergencies, such as medical emergencies, hospitalization, or death in the family. Documentation may be requested.

 

For non-emergency situations, students may receive a one-time class credit toward a future class if they notify HDG at least 48 hours in advance. Credits must be used within 90 days and are generally non-transferable.

 

Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice, or failure to attend, result in forfeiture of the class fee unless it qualifies as a verified emergency. If HDG cancels a class, students will receive either a free transfer to the next class or a full refund.
